Species
A full list of the range of species usually covered is on the home page but only very small quantities of the rarer species will be carried at any one time.

We will soon be adding a comprehensive species guide to the site but in the meantime feel free to ask Patrick Baxter about the different species and their uses. A visual guide is available to the main U.K. species via the links page.

Board prices
Boards are measured by the cubic foot and cubic metre. Unless you are used to buying by the lorry load cubic metre is bonkers for our small quantities but we are obliged to provide prices in metric.

Planed boards
Please note planed board sizes will be 1/4 - 3/8" less than the sawn thickness. Prices in the stock list are approximate, the final cost dependent on finished thickness, board width and changes in visual grading after planing. Please regard the listings as a guide only.

Terminology
WE : Waney edged - both edges of the board with natural edges, with or without bark intact.

SE : Square edged - both edges roughly straight, off the saw.

1SE : 1 square edge, 1 waney edge.
